Dear TEDS Family,
Welcome back to another great year at TEDS! My name is Greta Buehrle and I’m thrilled to introduce myself as your new Parent Association (PA) President. We moved to the The Woodlands two years ago from Dallas, and have really grown to love our place here. TEDS is a big part of that! My daughter, Lily, started that first August in Ms. Kris’s M/W/F 2’s class and is now starting her last year at TEDS in our other Ms. Chris’s M-‐Th 4’s class. It’s hard to believe that this will be our third year in the program! My son, Walt, was in Ms. Terri’s 18-‐months class last year and is in Ms. Kris’s class this year. Both of my kids love coming to school, love their teachers, and love learning — could I ask for anything more for a preschool?
Well, sort of — and that’s community! This is where the Parent Association comes in. We have the opportunity as moms and dads to be a community of TEDS parents together. My hope is that this year we become more than hurried hellos and goodbyes at drop off and pick up. I hope we really learn each other’s names (confession: I’m really BAD with names…) and learn moments — when separation anxiety stops, when we make it through the day in big boy pants without a change of clothes, when a child learns to recognize their name, and when a child learns to WRITE their name! What an exciting time for all of us to be journeying through together.
The thing that I love most about TEDS that it feels like a family. Let’s extend that family past the wonderful faculty and staff to include each other as well. I hope you’ll plan to come to our meetings and events, get involved and get excited about our TEDS community! We have lots of fun ideas for the year ahead and I can’t wait to share with you!
Looking forward to a great year!
